Question:

How do you build a network of customers?

Network Marketing Illustrated in Movie

Last night I saw the movie, National Lampoon's Van Wilder. Ok, not exactly Schindler's List, but if you could get past the frat boy pranks and naked coeds, the movie's main character, Van Wilder offers a perfect illustration of the kind of person who could sell ice to an Eskimo. If you really want to learn how to build rapport with ANYONE, watch this movie. I am serious. A salesperson like this has a list of friends a mile long (his network) on whom he can rely when he's in a jam. A salesperson likes this, genuinely likes just about everyone, finding good in just about anyone. He relates to customers on their level, and knows just the perfect fit of product or service they need that he can provide. It's hard to read this stuff in books and then put it to practice--but this stupid movie really acts like a training video if you watch his behavior closely, and apply it to your sales or business world. Bottom line, open up and smile and be friendly. It will go a long way in building your network of customers/friends.
